Comments: Lisa: Enlighten Me. (Get it?)

I think you should ask your husband, oh wait I got nothing, never mind.

I would think it would be on a timer... O_o Maybe the new lightbulb is the wrong wattage?

It might be on a timer, but I can't find any timer mechanism or anywhere to set the timer. The bulb could be the wrong wattage (and I didn't look at the old bulb before throwing it away), but I can't find anywhere on the lamp itself that says the max watts it can handle. Irritating! I guess I can always try a lower-watt bulb.

maybe try calling the city... because as far as i know, those lamp posts are run by the city, just like the light posts on the roads. at least they would tell you what wattage to use, because i'm pretty sure its them who installed it. good luck!

Update:
I tried a lower-watt bulb, but still no luck. I don't think the lamp post was installed by the city, since we're the only ones on the street with this type, but I guess I don't know for sure. I took a picture of the lamp post today, so I'll put it up so you guys can see what kind it is.

Hmm... maybe there was a short, and the wiring inside it is fried? Do you have any fix-it-inclined people around to open it up and perform lamp post surgery?

I don't really know any electrically-inclined people. I'll ask around, though.
