Lisa- Have You tried cooking the bacon in the oven? It takes a little bit longer to cook it but it is tastsey.

I guess you could broil it. I have never tried due to the fact that my stove sucks and the broiler is broken. I just bake it at 400 degrees(you may want to try 350 since like i said before my stove sucks) and depending on how you like your bacon cooked is how long it takes. I just line a bakingsheet with parchement(for easy cleanup) and pop it in while I cook the rest of my meal. I thought also occured to me to try putting a rack underneatht he bacon so its not sitting in grease while baking. I will have to try it and let you know if it works.

I am so glad that somebody agrees with me on how the bacon should be completely fatless. no goey stuff. also my sister used to always spell it bacoon or baccon. she just didnt get it.
