"Maybe there was a show on around the same time that featured a gorilla and a man wearing a khaki jumpsuit?"

I believe that is correct. The show was called "Curious George." Maybe you, the children's librarian, have heard of it...?

HA! But no. This was a man-sized gorilla, not a cuddly little monkey.

You thought the gorilla WAS A GHOSTBUSTER, so I'm not sure we can trust your memory. I'm sticking with Curious George.

Wasn't there a Donkey Kong cartoon? If so, the gorilla probably would have been wearing the jupsuit (or overalls), and I doubt there would be a man involved. I can't believe you had never seen Ghostbusters before! How does it hold up with time? I haven't seen it since I was probably 12.

Or maybe you were just thinking of Dan Aykroyd. He's sort of hairy. And... sometimes less than attractive.

Hello. There were two cartoons called 'Ghostbusters'. 'Ghostbusters' did indeed have a gorilla in it (although there was also one in Centurions) but 'The Real Ghostbusters' didn't. 'The Real Ghostbusters' was the official cartoon of the films. The other one was just rubbish.

I'm not sure about the khaki jumpsuit man, but there was someone like that in Thundercats occasionally. There may well have been a khaki jumpsuit man in 'Ghostbusters'. I don't know, because I stopped watching when I realised it had a ghostbusting gorilla as one of the main characters.
