Sarah: Chip off the ol' block

A few weeks ago, I told my friend "I'm just going to finish this, because I know I'll be happy with how it gets done." I was told I sounded like my mother. A few years ago I would have taken offense (as most children would), but now I'm not so sure that being like my mom in some ways is a bad thing.

I don't think being like your mother is a bad thing. Your mom has so many wonderful qualities that you can't help but love. And this is coming from someone who has only met her a handful of times. Also I was told by a very wise counsler that you should focus on the good qualties of your parents and not the bad. Becuase if you focus on the bad then you are more likely to develop those traits and vice versa.
