That would explain the pirate e-card I received from my brother-in-law. I thought he had watched Wife Swap on ABC last night and thought the family was cool. (If you didn't catch it, the family thought they were pirates.)

I've never watched Wife Swap. Is it any good? Is it anything like Nanny 911? Because if so I am IN.

The family thought they were pirates? That is sort of awesome. I hope they just hung out in an above-ground pool and wore eyepatches. And owned a parrot.

Maybe they also drank grog? Or bottles of rum? Or maybe they had peg legs.

Wife Swap is where two women switch lives. The show chooses the two most opposite people they can find. Last night one of the families live like they were pirates and the other were professional organizers. They pirate family wore pirate outfits and had a pirate flag outside their house. They were flea infested and it was disgusting. They said that pirates were their heros and everyone should live like them. It was crazy to say the least.

I think Jim Halpert watches Wife Swap. Just saying.

I don't get it . . .

Jim (leaning over the reception desk): So, did you watch Wife Swap last night?
Pam: No. I have a life.
Jim: Oh, really? What's that like?

As far as I'm concerned, having Jim as a fan is a point in its favor.

Crap. On second thought, I think it was Trading Spouses. Do I get points for the show having the same general premise?

Posted by: lisa on September 19, 2006 08:21 PM

Yes, yes you do.

Sorry. I was looking for some deeper, hidden meaning in the "Jim watches Wife Swap" comment. But no.

Posted by: Charles on September 19, 2006 08:27 PM

There is nothing deeper than the love of a Jim Halpert/Office fan. I should know. I am one.

Good point. I think the hidden meaning was "I heart John Krasinski."
