Lisa: career day

I love being a librarian, don't get me wrong, but we all have days when we think we might want to try out another profession, right?

Here are a few I think might be fun:

  • small bookshop owner, a la The Shop Around the Corner (but preferably not a bookstore being edged out of business by the nearby big box retailer)

  • owner of a store that sells fancy paper and custom stationery, etc., printed on the in-house printing press

  • private investigator (because some people actually get paid to be all nosy and stalkerish)

    I realize you posted this like 2 weeks ago... I thought I'd commented but apparently I didn't..

    ANYWAY... I have often thought you would make a good private investigator. Maybe you could get a fake badge or something? I could totally show you how to work people for info regarding PO Boxes...

    So like, i always wondered, what does a librarian do like in their spare time, like what is there to do? do ALL librairies have librarians? are they like the top of the food chain or is there like a library manager?
