Dear Internet,
I am sorry I didn't visit you all day today. I had to go to the hospital to meet someone.

Love,

That is so weird! I woke up this morning, and I just knew Lisa had her baby. I checked my email, and what do you know? Congratulations to everyone! Can't wait to hear all of the details.

Thank you everybody!

Hi, Jeff! I miss you tons.

Jeremy, you make me sound like Gypsy Rose Lee's mother.

Posted by: lisa on September 19, 2007 08:07 PM

Oh wow. I didn't mean it to sound that way. So allow me to say it in a different way. Though we've never met, I can't think of very many people that would be a perfect mother. But I feel very surely that you will be. I know that your love of not just books but children's books will carry over into motherhood. When Nora is five in her own room and scared at night, you'll crawl in next to her and read her a story, not just a read through, but voices, actions, songs, the works. And her fears are going to slip gently away into your all-encompassing love for her. And your love of music will help color her world in rich, exciting tones. And I mean pushy because you seem determined, like with the marathon, so I know you will not rest to make sure that your child is protected and happy. I really don't know where DBo is going to come into play, but one thing I'm sure about. You were born to be a great mother. And I don't mean Gypsy Rose Lee.
