Lisa: Fine. Pick your OWN freaking colors!

I put up a new stylesheet today (obviously). Sarah thinks the yellow is "vomitous," but I kind of like it. All three of our readers are expected to vote in the comments. That means YOU!

Do you really really want to know????

I vote for more bananas and less pineapples.

What does that mean? The yellow is too citrusy?

Posted by: lisa on June 17, 2004 03:27 PM

It looks like my Loreal conditioner. And pumpkin pocky.

Posted by: Gemini6Ice on June 17, 2004 03:31 PM

but is that good or bad??? And what is pumpkin pocky?

Posted by: lisa on June 17, 2004 03:37 PM

any better?

Posted by: lisa on June 17, 2004 03:55 PM

Wow! You ladies look lovely in those strikingly bright yellows. I do like the yellow background, but I don't like the orange bars. Bleh.

Posted by: Neighbor Ryan on June 17, 2004 09:44 PM

Well, it leaves nasty dried gunk in my sink, so I'd say bad.

And... You've never had pocky?!? Where do you live? I'll bring some RIGHT NOW!

Posted by: Gemini6Ice on June 18, 2004 06:02 AM

Not only have I not had pocky, but I have no clue what it is. The name reminds me of pock-marks, which reminds me of...I don't know. And I am open to color suggestions...

You told us to vote, but not what for.
Please revert to the banana stylesheet, this green thing is reminding me of ... well some kind of stuff, I don't know what exactly.
It's confusing me, that's what it is.
Yeah, stick with bananas, they're good.

I didn't think the yellow was vomitous when it was one of the colors of the polka dots, just slightly nauseating in large quantities. Now our site feels a little like an outfit I had in the 80's. Sorry not to be more constructive, Lisa.
So, pumpkin pocky is good, but leaves dried nastiness in your sink? How does that work? What is pumpkin pocky?

Posted by: Sarah on June 19, 2004 09:57 AM

See, this new color scheme feels like those mints they sometimes have at the front of nice restaurants. Like the Jordan Almonds without the almonds... Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

(And, wow is this the most commented thread on your site ever, or what?)

To Sarah: My Loral "Smooth-Intense" conditioner leaves dried nastiness in my sink, and on my mirror, because I am messy. I am surprised nobody has confronted me on the seeming incongruency of a sink (rather than a bathtub) and conditioner. But nobody has, so I'll explain myself another time.

Pocky is like... Take animal crackers. Turn them into long stick shapes. Then coat them with some sort of pudding-cream except for one one end where the snacker may hold it without getting eir fingers all creamy. That's a stick of pocky.

I'm going to make a quick random background image using the color scheme for you guys. Feel free to use it or not to use it. I'll post another comment when I do it.

Try out this background and see if you like it:

By the way, I don't like the fact that I can't put HTML in my comments. :(

Sorry, the anti-html policy is due to lame-o comment spammers. Also, yesterday I tried to put the old stylesheet back up in defeat, but Movable Type overwrote it with the green one again and now the old stylesheet is gone. Argh!

((So I accidentally hit CANCEL instead of POST. Thank goodness it was a short post, or else I'd be fuming.))

Have you considered changing to the oh-so-popular WordPress?

Posted by: Gemini6Ice on June 20, 2004 04:57 PM

We've been happy with Movable Type other than the overwriting thing. I just need to remember to do everything through the Movable Type interface, and not mess with the files on the server directly.

I hate to ask, but...any thoughts on the new light yellow/pink?

OK, I take it back, I think I have seen Pocky. Is it Japanese? Or do they often shelve it near the Japanese candies?

Posted by: lisa on June 21, 2004 09:46 AM

Yes, it is Japanese. Its sister is the puddingless Pretz, which comes in a variety of flavors. "Salad Pretz" seriously freaking tastes like CHICKEN CAESAR SALAD! In a stick! And with so few calories!!

I like yellow. It reminds me of my bedsheets. Not for long though, because, with the purchase of my queen size bed, there will be new NAVY sheets to go with a new ROYAL BLUE curtain! Hurrah!

Um, yes, the new color scheme is pretty. It has my vote. Custard: yay. Mint: yay. Loreal yellow: nay.

^_^
